A Big Fat F...................

I reckon I will get a big fat F in blogging 101 this year.

You would think a journalist would never run out of things to say
but we do. Or at least I do.

Since I have been MIA for a good long time I guess I need to update some.
Yard sale action for me as been few and far between, so I have lived vicariously
through blogs written by those who share my passion for thrifting.

So.............
I have been reading and reading and reading and reading lots of amazing blogs and
learning lots of great info too.

I have added some of those blogs over to the right and you can click on them to see why I have had so much fun reading about the thrifting life of so many others like me.
And when I am not sidetracked by blog hopping, I will add to the list.

400 Mile Yard Sale

Spent Friday at the 400 mile yard sales.
We started in Mason County and hit US 68 through
Nicholas, Robertson, Bourbon and Fayette Counties. Stopped at a ton of sales.
Good grief, I am out of practice, just a few short years ago I would have come home with a car load of stuff.
Here is my haul for the day.
The Osterizer Blender was priced at five dollars, I got it for $3,
and the percolator was just 50 cents!
Vintage patterns-.50 each
Elmo Camera-.50
Vintage Apron-.50
Tins-.25
Tea pot with strainer inside-2.00

In Old Washington in Mason County I spotted this fantastic Volkswagon. I want it!

This is my friend Danetta, she is checking out the good junk at a sale down on US 68

The Junk Mans place, lots of junk for sure,
but I was disappointed in the junk man,
he didnt seem to love his junk,
there was some really good vintage stuff
but it has been left out in the weather for years
there was some really rusty, crusty stuff inside the outbuildings. No score here

Be Still My Heart

Danetta and I decided to take a road trip to check out some antique shops and flea markets.
We stopped by Humphries Antiques in Poplar Plains first then headed to Farmers to have a look see at the School House Antiques.
I love vintage stuff, and the antiques at Humphries are lovely,
but I didn't find anything on this trip to fall head over heels for, except for a little bug in the photo below and the wonderful country cottage style house!

those dreams I said I had to remember, well this is one of them
be still my heart.........
i spied this baby parked at the side of todd johnsons garage, and just about caused a wreck when i hollered oh my gosh and danetta said you wanna get a picture, and i said naw, ......then quickly yelled oh hell yes!
now i feel bad cause in all my giddy excitement, i forgot to pet the doggie that wandered in as i snapped the photo.

A few of my favorite things........

I became a member of I Antique Online a few years ago and still love this site!
Below is a few of my favorite collectibles that are from a slideshow that I have shared with the thousands of members who also have a passion for all things vintage.
I tend to have sellers remorse and miss some of the things I have sold...LOL

Where am I?

While blog hoppin I found this neat little sign and stole borrowed
it because it says just how I am feeling these days!

I followed my bliss, my heart and my passion but I still don't know where I am going just yet.
But, I do have an idea of where I want to be.........Junk Queen Street!! Hmm, is that just down the road from Sesame Street?

I actually have a pretty good start on the junk in my trunk, or under my sofa I should say.
Prime example of a true junkaholic? well here ya go......

What to do with this? Ebay? Hell's fire it would cost a fortune to ship or should I Craigs List this thang.Hey it's a hot collectible and can fetch like 200 bucks, really!!
The Commodore 128 hit the stands in 1985 and folks who love their vintage techy stuff have been grabbin up these babies.

Movin' & Tradin'

Sometimes I help my friends clean out or move their stuff.
In return I get to take home
some good junk like this wing back chair!!
Well, actually I took home two of these babies.

Some day I plan to get my chairs upholstered in a small stripe or flower print.

Several years ago I helped a family member clean out an estate she inherited and let me tell ya, we sure had fun digging through years and years worth of vintage stuff.
Most of my take home goods have already been sold,
but I still have a few items left that I might list on Ebay.

I love these Ice Capade booklets. Especially the Disney graphics on the back!

And these sweet vintage cookie cutters still in the package are one of my favorites.

Wisemen & Pixies

Vintage Christmas is always at the top of my list.
One of my favorite junkin finds is this sweet little Christmas Pixie, circa 1960.

When I was a little girl mamaw always had this chalkware Nativity set displayed beneath her Christmas tree.

Addicted to Junk

Hello,
I've been addicted to junk for a long time. It all started when I was just a little girl and I saw my very first junk store.
At the top of my bucket list is to own this very truck. I could haul a lot of "good junk" home in this baby!
